Taylor Robson: Biden clone Katie Hobbs endorses repeal of Title 42 border security provisions

Statement by Karrin Taylor Robson, Republican candidate for Arizona Governor

April 4, 2022

Background:

During an appearance Sunday on Phoenix-area TV program Politics Unplugged, liberal Democrat Katie Hobbs said she supports Joe Biden’s planned repeal of Title 42. The regulation has enabled speedier proceedings to expel illegal immigrants, and Homeland Security officials warn its elimination may result in up to 500,000 migrants crossing the border in the first month alone.

“Katie Hobbs’ support for the reckless repeal of Title 42 is disqualifying and further proof she would lead Arizona as an open borders liberal. If you like Joe Biden’s record-breaking border failure, you’ll love Katie Hobbs.

Watch here:

“Hobbs declared ‘Title 42 isn’t working,’ but the policy is a critical component of U.S. border security and has been used over 1.7 million times since 2020 to more quickly expel illegal immigrants to Mexico or their countries of origin. With Biden’s repeal of Title 42 on May 23, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is bracing for up to 500,000 illegal immigrants to flood Arizona and neighboring border states in the first month alone. This influx threatens to swamp federal authorities and overwhelm border communities already straining under the weight of record-breaking illegal immigration during the Biden presidency.

“On the biggest issue facing Arizona, Katie Hobbs has made it clear where she stands: with Joe Biden and against the Arizona people. Even Democrats like Arizona Senators Kelly and Sinema recognize the danger posed by repealing Title 42 and have urged Biden to maintain the regulation.

“Arizona cannot afford a Governor Hobbs, who will act as a rubberstamp for Biden-Harris. I will provide the strong leadership Arizona needs by standing up to the administration, fighting for Arizona every day, and implementing a tough, 6-point plan to secure our border and end the chaos.”
