Feb. 1, 2022

Today, the Karrin for Arizona campaign released Karrin Taylor Robson’s official policy plan for securing Arizona’s southern border with Mexico. The SECURE Arizona plan includes six steps, beginning with Taylor Robson calling the Arizona Legislature into an emergency session immediately after taking the oath of office in January 2023.

Surge National Guard
Emergency Session
Construct the Wall

“The federal government has failed Arizonans for decades when it comes to border security, but the situation under the Biden administration has deteriorated to the worst condition in my lifetime,” Taylor Robson said. “Arizona is on the frontline of this crisis, and I as Governor will take every step possible to bring safety and security to our border region. Working in collaboration with like-minded states, we will resolve this crisis by surging National Guard, equipping law enforcement with the technology and authority they require, and finishing the wall on every inch of dirt it’s possible.”

Former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, who famously tangled with the Obama administration and is one of the nation’s leading voices on border security, said Taylor Robson has the right plan.

“I’ve seen some of the other GOP candidates’ plans for border security, and I’ll tell you this: the easiest promise any politician can make is an empty one. Karrin’s plan is comprehensive, it is effective and – most importantly – it is achievable,” said Governor Brewer, who is co-chairing the Karrin for Arizona campaign. “Karrin’s proposal to team up with our fellow states in attacking this crisis with boots on the ground, technology, and physical barriers will make a real difference for Arizona’s safety and security.”
