FREE SPEECH WINS: Station caves on censorship, agrees to air Karrin for Arizona campaign ad

FS1 walks back decision to block “Broken Border” campaign ad

Feb. 10, 2022

Today, the Karrin for Arizona campaign announced it was victorious in its dispute with FS1 over the campaign’s “Broken Border” ad. The cable station, owned by FOX Sports Media Group, initially refused to air the 30-second ad that featured authentic footage at the Yuma border of a busload of illegal immigrants crossing into the United States. FS1 demanded an affidavit attesting to the location where the footage was captured, as well as documentation of the citizenship status of the migrants depicted. After the Karrin for Arizona contested the censorship, FS1 agreed to air the ad beginning today.

Statement by Karrin Taylor Robson, Republican candidate for Arizona Governor:

“Our cameras captured the harsh truth about Arizona’s broken border, which FS1 sought to arbitrarily censor by blocking our campaign ad. It’s the same well-worn playbook that Big Tech and the mainstream media have used for years to suppress conservative speech. Not this time. Our victory in getting a national cable outlet to back down shows what’s possible when conservatives stand up for the truth and FIGHT BACK. As Arizona Governor, I’ll never stop fighting for Arizona.”
